These free classes are open to cancer patients whether newly diagnosed, in treatment, in recovery, or beyond who are currently being seen or followed by a Carolinas Healthcare System or Levine Cancer Institute physician. Caregivers are welcome to attend for free as well. The classes are held on Mondays at 5:30pm. Specialized yoga classes address the physical and emotional side effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Yoga classes for cancer patients and their caregivers provide a much needed outlet for stress relief and physical strengthening during what may be the most challenging time of a person's life. The classes will focus on stimulating the immune system through movement, improving flexibility and strengthening bones, and creating a sense of empowerment to reduce anxiety. Yoga for cancer classes create a safe place where cancer can be openly acknowledged and provide a sense of community where the participants can connect for encouragement and friendship.
