Brooklyn, New York - Tuesday, September 07th 2004 - Votaw Photography has launched a website with several galleries of nature photographs by photographer Melanie Votaw. Taken in Africa, Central and South America, North America, Europe, and the Caribbean, the photos include birds, butterflies, mammals, landscapes, orchids, and other plants.

"There's nothing like the awe I experience when visiting a rainforest or the African bushvelt and photographing the animals and landscapes," Ms. Votaw said today.

The images in the VotawPhotography.com galleries can be purchased as fine art prints, greeting cards, calendars, address books, or calculators. The website, which is dedicated to the memory of famed landscape photographer Galen Rowell, also contains a page of links to various conservation organizations.

Melanie Votaw is the author of the book, "Hummingbirds: Jewels On Air," published by Running Press in April 2003, which contains eight of her photographs. Six of her images will appear in an upcoming book by the Michael Wilcox School of Colour, and one of her orchid photos appears on the National Honey Board website. Her photos have been displayed at Westside Camera in New York, as well as the walls of Sting's Rainforest Foundation office. Ms. Votaw is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association, Nature Photographers Network, Women In Photography International, the Authors Guild, and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
