Philosophy and Comments

The impact of yoga is never purely physical. Some students only pay attention to the physical aspect of yoga. Their practice is like a fast-flowing stream, tumbling and falling, which lacks depth and direction. Asanas, if correctly practiced, bridge the divide between the physical and the mental spheres. Yoga stems the feelings of pain, fatigue, doubt, confusion, indifference, laziness, self-delusion, and despair that assail us from time to time. The yogic mind simply refuses to accept such a negative emotions and seeks to overcome these turbulent currents on the voyage to the total liberation of the self. Once we become sincere practitioners of yoga, we cease to be tormented by there unhappy and discouraging states of mind. Yoga illuminates your life. If you practice sincerely, with seriousness and honesty, its light will spread to all aspects of your life. Regular practice will bring you to look at yourself and your goals in a new light. It will help remove the obstacles to good health and stable emotions. In this way, yoga will help you achieve emancipation and self-realization, which is the ultimate goal of every person's life.

Director, Miami Beach Bodywork

Chad Ingram is a true Miami native. Born, raised and schooled in the land of sun and fun, Chad exhausted his teenage years and early twenties immersed in the South Beach nightclub scene, a shady and nocturnal world devoid of light and learning. With a bright, striking smile and a beautiful body, Chad easily became a popular fixture among the local glitterati that inhabited South Beach in the early 90’s.

But his soul was wanting; his life was yearning for direction. In the seamy darkness of Liquid Nightclub, good friend Ingrid Casares mentioned Ashtanga, and the light she had recently discovered in her practice. When he heard the word Ashtanga, the pleasant hum of the first Sanskrit Chad had heard resonated deep within him, awakening a profound, primordial sense. The following day, he accepted Ingrid’s invitation to attend class with the celebrated yoga recluse Hanuman (Wayne Krassner). This first class led him, at last, past the darkness, into the light he had unconsciously been seeking and a path to his true self.

Since then, Chad has worked tirelessly to bring a new level of health, peace and fitness to his own life, and to the lives of his many grateful clients. In philosophy and practice Chad has digested the teachings of the great yogic gurus: Pantanjali, Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Iyengar, Hanuman, Beryl Bender Birch, David Life, and David Swenson. Educated in the top shalas and facilities in Miami, he has enhanced his vast knowledge and understanding of yogic philosophies with additional skills and certifications. He is an experienced yoga instructor registered with the Yoga Alliance and has been certified as a fitness professional with both the National Academy of Sports Medicine and The Chek Institute. Chad has honed these skills over the past 5 years with the team at David Barton Gym in Miami Beach.

Chad has a natural healing touch, and has cultivated this gift at The Florida College of Natural Health, the state’s highest-rated school for massage therapy, where he earned a Degree in Therapeutic and Medical Massage. Chad is also certified in Thai Massage by Michael Buck of the Vedic Conservatory in Florida.

Professionally, Chad has taught over 5000 classes at David Barton Gym, Crunch Fitness, The Setai, Gold’s Gym and other luxury fitness facilities on South Beach. Privately, Chad has served to strengthen the lives and bodies of an elite cadre of clients that literally stretch throughout Miami to Manhattan. Described by one of these clients as a “triple threat” – yoga, personal training and massage therapy in one tight, attractive package – Chad’s workouts are known for their creative approach to fitness, incorporating elements of yoga, core training, kettle bells and weights to craft a new exercise experience for the body every time.

In January 2007, Chad embarked on a new journey, joining partners Fred Busch, Veronica Davila, and Hossein Shadanlou to open Brickell Yogashala in the heart of Miami’s downtown. Promising to deliver the growing area a practice that develops the mind, the soul, and the body, Brickell Yogashala will offer area residents a chance to live by Chad’s motto: Train. Breathe. Live Better.
