Laura Lee Hensley, RN MLD/CDP Founder/Executive Director Ms. Hensley is the Founder and Director of Synergistic Arts and Sciences. Ms. Hensley received her Nursing Degree in 1985 and immediately completed a Critical Care Course, enabling her to work in Cardiac Care, Intensive Care and Telemetry sections of the hospital. Wanting to gain more experience in the nursing field she went on to geriatric, oncology, emergency room and burn care. In 1990-1991, Ms. Hensley (a Lieutenant in the Army Reserves) was deployed to Desert Storm serving with the 403rd Combat Support Hospital as an Intensive Care Nurse, attending to Enemy POW’s. Upon return from Desert Storm, Ms Hensley entered the field of Managed Care, gaining experience in Pre-authorization, Utilization Review, Infection Control and Case Management. This led her into the Insurance Industry where she gained experience in Underwriting and more Case Management, as well as Patient Advocacy. She continued her skills with Critical Care Nursing through the military as a Captain and Officer in Charge of enlisted personnel with the 4222nd in Arizona, developing training programs for the Unit. She received an Army Commendation Medal for developing a complete training program utilized by the military. Ms. Hensley founded and is currently the Executive Director for Synergistic Arts and Sciences and is also the Director of the Springville Health Center, The Lymphedema Center and the Hobble Creek Schools which include Advanced Massage Therapy, Lymphology, and a Holistic Esthetician School. Ms. Hensley has completed 135 hours of instruction in Manual Lymphatic Drainage/Complete Decongestive Therapy (Vodder Technique) through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and is also a student of the Chikly Technique of Manual Lymphatic Drainage. With extensive research into the role of Lymphology and Health, Ms Hensley has authored many articles and texts including “Lymphology, The Hidden Science and Lymphology Made Easy, The Companion Guide to Lymphology,” as well as CD’s for therapists. Work has begun on other texts incorporating the lymphatic system and emotional health, to name a few, along with educational seminars. Ms Hensley’s memberships include the Utah State Nurses Association, American Society of Drugless Practitioners, American Nurses Association, American Society of Lymphology, International Academy of Lymphology, Lymphedema Association of Australia, National Lymphedema Network, Academy of Lymphatic Studies, and International Society of Lymphology.

EDUCATION We provide you the information you need to create a higher level of wellness through educational seminars, community programs, business and school programs, retreats complete with workshops, educational materials, etc. that will help you embrace this new level of creating wellness in all aspects of your life! Utilizing William Collinges' “Medicine Wheel”, (William Collinge, PhD.) we strive to educate the public and health professionals on the latest therapies, products and theories of alternative health. Through our schools such as: Hobble Creek School of Advanced Massage Therapies Fast Track Massage Therapy Program for Nurses Hobble Creek School of Holistic Esthetics Hobble Creek School of Lymphology. The Helping Place: Center staffed by LPCs for learning disabled and brain injured children. Ask A Nurse: answers for your questions about health. Nightingale Call Center: launches Sept. 1, 2004, Telephone Triage Center that answers your questions and helps guide you to the appropriate care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We provide ongoing education that enhances health, beginning at the cellular level. ALTERNATIVE HEALTH CENTER Our clinic, Springville Health Center promotes alternative healing modalities such as craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, somatoemotional release, structural mechanics, nutrititional consults, detoxification programs, reflexology, hydrocolon therapy, massage, and more. Staffed by health professionals with degrees in fields such as nursing, nutrition, and psychology, massage therapy, our center provides the client an atmosphere of healing and education. Let our trained (nationally certified) and degreed (university) therapists such as nurses and other allied health practitioners, help assist you on the road to achieving a higher state of health! LYMPHEDEMA TREATMENT AND RESEARCH Lymphatic drainage and compression therapy are offered through our own "Lymphedema Center," by Laura L Hensley, RN, MLD/CDP. Our center utilizes herbal therapies such as "horse chestnut," electro-lymphatic drainage and other treatment modalities currently under research. Complete with photos, graphs and Tammy's own diary, we hope to provide more educational information for professionals and those suffering from lymphedema. PUBLIC COURSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Our center also hosts many educational seminars, classes, etc. for the public and professionals such as Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Infant Massage, Couples Massage, Insurance for the Practitioner, and much more!
