I am a birth doula/labor assistant serving birthing women throughout Central Mississippi and surrounding areas by providing education and support during the childbearing year.

I have been serving birthing women since August 2002. I received my Doula certification through Birthing Options' Childbirth Education & Services (BOCES), and am currently seeking Monitrice certification, also with BOCES. I have attended a mixture of births, including VBAC's and single mothers.

I believe birth is a safe and natural event in the sexual life of woman that is not to be feared but greatly respected and protected. A gentle, family-centered model of care is best for pregnant women throughout the pregnant season and birth process. My goal as a labor assistant is to help birthing women get this kind of care and the birth experience they want.
