Distance Healing

Distance Healing or Prayer is a simple, effective way to impact someone if they are thousands of miles away. The beauty about utilizing distance healing/prayer is that you don't need extensive training to do it. All that is needed is intent, a sincere desire to help people and a willingness to quietly concentrate.

The Team supports the prayer and healing concerns of those requesting aid through distance healing. Our team accepts healers and prayer supporters using energy disciplines such as Reiki, Johrei as well as the spoken word in prayer. Members receive prayer requests (called Prayer-gram) once a week and each member administers the requests as they feel best for themselves.

Samuel Thadeus Short is the Coordinator of the Antesian Prayer Team which he developed in 1993.

Samuel began his spiritual path in 1982 in Richmond, Virginia where he severed as the Richmond Area Representative for the Association For Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) based on Edgar Casey. He overlooked eight "Search For God Study Groups"

Samuel Studied with the Bramha Kumaris in Boston, Massachusetts as coordinator for their Global Cooperation Project for Western new England.

Coming to San Francisco in 1989 he took the year long 'A Course in Miracles' at the California Miracles Center.

Distance Healing or Absence Healing was considered to be limited but in recent practice the potential of distance healing has proven that sending energy to a recipient or situation is a powerful avenue that works extremely well.

Practitioners have directed healing energy to boardrooms, pets, surgical procedures, courtrooms, business offices, plants and even sporting events. distance energy healing has become a viable option for those who would rather not have a hands-on session, are home bound, or simply don't have the time for a session.



It is important to reflect on the general desired outcome behind the request. An example would be to ask for the "growth of one's business". It would be more productive to ask what you would want from its growth. It may be better to ask for "financial freedom". This broader approach frees up the hands of the divine to send you your best outcome. Reiki always works toward the best outcomes. When my clients present me with a request, I will ask that the energy be utilized for the "highest and best" of the individual or situation. It is good to remember that one is only limited by their imagination and purity of intent.



Distance healing energy can be sent to a past or future event. A childhood trauma can be relieved of its grip on a suffering adult. An important exam or presentation can be performed with a commanding calmness. A Reiki II trained police officer can send Reiki into a home where a disturbed individual is about to harm themselves or others. Reiki sent to hospice patients could reduce the pain and anxiety of those about to expire. Peace would replace fear. One preparing for surgery could experience less pain, lose less blood, and have a faster recovery. I choose the word could because the use of the energy is determined by the recipient's soul. The only guarantee is that the Reiki energy is going to the highest good. It always does.



The energy gently works to produce harmony and clarity where anxiety and discord had prevailed. Both the home and workplace are excellent targets of energy. Relationships that are stuck are moved toward the highest good of all. The end results could be resolution or dissolution. All parties will have the opportunity to move toward their higher good. Corporate teams across the United States have been utilizing healing energy (Reiki) as a gentle catalyst toward harmony and greater productivity. Dysfunctional teams have moved toward harmony and trust while corporations reap the benefits. Homes and workplaces that just didn't feel good have been cleared of negative residual energies using this method.



Distance Healing (Reiki & Johrei) can be used for self healing on ourselves. The energy is universal and regardless of what it is called, it is the same energy and everyone can use it.

Thus far, a majority of my distance energy treatments are to individuals who have lost their ability to function due to an emotional upset. Hurts inflicted by loved ones rank high on the list for producing an emotional paralysis. The individual is so gripped with emotion that they cannot even secure medical or psychological assistance. I am still in awe as to the power of power of distance healing to bring peace to where there was once chaos.



The beauty of Distance Healing is its practicality and its power. It can be understood that we need to have more than anecdotal evidence. Only after we experience the power of this energy first hand can we truly believe in its authentic power.



The energy is a powerful prayer. By prayer we are speaking of directing your energy rather than asking for divine favors. Dr. Larry Dossey has documented scientific studies on the power of prayer. Before Dr. Dossey's early book, Healing Words was published in 1993, only three U.S. medical schools had courses exploring the role of prayer in health. Currently, nearly fifty medical schools offer such courses. The majority of them use Dr. Dossey's books as the textbooks for the courses. References are made to controlled double-blind experiments with unknowing groups of human patients. The results affirm the undeniable power of prayer.



A second set of experiments that can be researched are those conducted by Bruce and John Klingbeil, the founders of Spindrift. Their experiments on prayer utilized simple organisms instead of humans. The choice of less complex subjects reduced the variables inherent in human studies. As expected, prayer significantly affected the germination of seeds as well as vitality of various lower organisms such as yeast and moulds.



The energy is both preventative and healing intervention. The amount of time and sessions required varies from individual to individual. Major life changes and physical healings may take some time.
