A personal highlight of SXSW, these North Carolina dirtbags sound like Faster Pussycat splitting an eight-ball with Motorhead. "Kings of Sleaze" is a loud and drunk gang-bang rampage, which means that, well, it fuckin' rules! "Ride That Dog" is a standout screamer, as are "Back in the Nasty," "Kick It On Down the Line" and my favorite, "Shut Your Lip." Powerhouse drums, chugging guitars and bass, and the most sore-throated vocals you've ever heard make this a must-have soundtrack for sin-sational, cock-rock-style, Saturday night debauchery. The CD even manages to capture the band's live show which is explosive enough to flatten Satan's meth lab. Decked in mirror shades, dangling cigs and bandanas, the Crank County Daredevils would rather overdose with Nikki Sixx than accept a Grammy from Dave Matthews, and that alone is worthy of double-fisted, devil-horn salutes. Crank County Daredevils??? Hell yeah!!!!
