Work Hours and Fee Schedule

Hilary Schlinger, midwife at Sage Femme Midwifery, has assisted hundreds of women in giving birth in the safety and privacy of both home and birth center settings. She provides full prenatal care at a leisurely pace. This insures that all questions are answered, that women feel prepared for birth and parenthood, and that there is ample opportunity for the midwife and parents to get to know each other over the course of the pregnancy. Home visits are done both prenatally and after the birth for home birth clients. An extensive lending library is available to help families learn more about the birth process and beyond. Nutrition, herbs, and alternative therapies are explored. Most of all, at Sage Femme Midwifery there is respect for the parents being in control of their own pregnancy and birth. For all women: Midwives are the ideal health providers for women throughout the life cycle. They take the time to get to know each woman as an individual, provide a wide range of health care information, and respect each woman's decisions. Annual exams can become a time for discussing nutrition, general health concerns, or contraception. Midwives perform pap smears, breast exams, screening for sexually transmitted infections, and find solutions for common gynecological problems. Laboratory and diagnostic testing are available. Hilary has had extensive experience providing care for women of all ages. This includes the care of young women having their first-ever exams, as well as care through menopause. A variety of holistic approaches to woman's health are presented, along with conventional medical care. Underlying all the care at Sage Femme is the same philosophy of informed decision-making, time for answering all questions, and an individualized approach.
