Philosophy and Comments

Living Routes partners with Ecovillages around the world. These vibrant communities of individuals, socially responsible businesses, and nonprofit agencies are the future. Socially diverse and ecologically focused, these communities provide a living laboratory for a sustainable way of life. Community members grow organic foods, harness renewable energy, practice holistic health and consensus decision making, and excel at artistic and cross-cultural expression. Living Routes programs are both experiential and academic. They challenge students to grow on professional and personal levels. Programs are taught by faculty with in-country experience and expertise in a wide range of fields. Students and faculty together create a learning community within the living community of the ecovillage. This remarkable educational environment facilitates transformative intellectual development.
