My journey into Midwifery began with the birth of my two sons, both births attended by midwives, one in a birth center and one a homebirth.

Shortly after my homebirth I began teaching childbirth classes and assisting at births. My journey continued with an apprenticeship in Traditional Midwifery which created for me a strong doundation and knowledge that, "Women know how to give birth, and, babies know how to be born!". I completed my apprenticeship in 1991 and began my homebirth practice in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) in 1997 and, a Florida Licensed Midwife in 2001. I currently maintain a diverse, independent homebirth practice, "Spirit of Life Midwifery" in Miami Florida.

I am so honored to be a part of the wonderful tradition of midwifery -supporting, caring for and being "with woman". Pregnancy and giving birth are some of the most magical, powerful times in a woman's life. It is a time of great transformation and change. I know that midwives make a difference.

As a midwife it is my mission and my desire to confidently continue to carry on this ancient time honored tradition far into the future.
