Himayat Inayati, MS., ThD., has been head of the Sufi Healing Order since 1979. His responsibilities include healing, teaching, and developing the international secretariat for the Healing Order. Over the past 20 years Himayat has presented training on mysticism and spiritual healing in fourteen different countries. His perspective, guided by the light of the Message in our time as articulated by Hazrat Inayat Khan, is rooted in the teachings of Sufism, ancient and modern. His method is updated by modern scientific research as well as medical and psychological clinical practice. Himayat's style of teaching is lucid, practical, experientially based, and humorous. He has been a leader in the development of a broadly inclusive dialogue between spirit and science, particularly addressing the dynamics of spiritual healing. To date Himayat has initiated twenty-six conferences addressing this issue. Himayat's work is appreciated by many beyond the Sufi environs. He has been a guest speaker at various universities and medical schools and since 1982 he has been an honorary advisor to The International Society of Religion and Psychology, established by Hiroshi Motoyama, Ph.D., in Tokyon, Japan. Over the past decade Himayat created The Raphaelite Wrok, a four year certification course of training in the art and practice of spiritual healing. This training is available internationally.
