Description

Craniosacral Therapy is a very gentle hands-on therapy that accesses the body's own potential to heal itself.

Specically, craniosacral therapy can help alleviate headaches, dizziness, jaw(TMJ) pain, neck and back pain, release trauma (from accident, headinjury, birth trauma) and reduce effects of stress.

It allows the client to access a state of deep inner stillness---this thus lays the basic groundwork for healing.

The therapist can then facilitate and allow the body to correct boney alignment, tissue (muscle, ligament, tendon) and fluid tension.

Profile and Credentials

Trudy, a physical therapist now for 40 years, began her studies of craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Foundation in 1992 and has since been incoporating it into her clinical practice. She completed the 2 year course at the Colorado School of Energy Studies in Boulder, CO in 2001 leading to certification in craniosacral therapy by the Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America.

She has since had a private physical therapy practice in Longmont, CO specializing in craniosacral therapy, is a Medicare and major medical insurance provider. She recently began training as a Reiki practitioner to further her knowledge and skill in work with the client's energy field and craniosacral system.

Philosophy and Comments

The type of craniosacral therapy that Trudy practices is known as "biodynamic" craniosacral therapy, meaning that the client's own body is using its own dynamic energy to correct and heal its own body's imbalances through her gentle witnessing and facilitation during a treatment session. Trudy has found that craniosacral therapy is able to reach the client's nervous system and structures on such a deep level that it allows for allleviation of many symptoms in her clients who have suffered from chronic conditions for years.

Work Hours and Fee Schedule

She has a very flexible schedule during week days and accepts evening appointments to accommodate those who work during the day.

For private pay, her per visit fee is $75 but is very willing to negotiate a lower fee depending on the financial situation of the client. Sessions last from one to one and one-half hour.

Her practice is able to bill medical insurance and Medicare if the client has a Dr's prescription for physical therapy related to the client's physical complaints.
