The Women's Specialists of Houston is a private practice located in the Texas Medical Center. We are comprised of four Nurse Midwives and seven OB/GYN physicians. As Midwives we provide a unique approach to women’s health care. We offer the luxury of Midwifery care in a hospital setting. We attend births at St Luke’s Episcopal hospital and The Methodist hospital.
Profile and Credentials
Each of the Nurse Midwives are certified by the National Accrediting Board of the American Collage of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). They meet the criteria for certification by successfully completing an ACNM board exam and maintain status as a registered nurse and fulfill state requirements for advanced nursing practice.
Philosophy and Comments
Pregnancy and birth are special events that belong to the pregnant woman and her family. Pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy events that enrich relationships and allow families to grow together. Through education and communication, the pregnant woman will participate in the decision making of her care. It is our goal to provide individualized care and education while staying attuned to the concerns and needs of the woman. We also provide gynecological care to women from adolescence through menopause.
Work Hours and Fee Schedule
Our Office is located in St Lukes Towers. We see Clients in the office Monday Through Friday for prenatal care and GYN exams. A Nurse Midwife is on call for labor and delivery 24 hours, seven days a week. We accept most major insurance and offer a payment plan for clients who self pay.
