Tricia Stroud earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling in 1997. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of Health as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
She began her career interning under the supervision of the former President of the Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. Her career has spanned private practice, mental health clinics and social/government agencies.
While as a private practice counselor in the Dallas area, she has worked with couples, families and individuals on a variety of issues. This includes marriage counseling, family difficulties, parenting issues, individual concerns, depression, and grief/loss. Ms. Stroud has also been heavily involved in counseling on the topics of anxiety, anger management, conflict resolution, body image, weight issues, self-esteem, life transitions, personal growth, school/job stress, and academic/employment issues in both individual and group therapy.
In addition, Ms. Stroud has held leadership positions in the health field. She served as Secretary and then Chairperson of the Kiosco Clinic Advisory Board, a mental and physical health facility in Dallas.
She also worked for a Dallas-area battered women's shelter, helping women that had been abused. Ms. Stroud has counseled many couples and singles regarding parenting issues and facilitated parenting classes for a local mental health clinic.
Ms. Stroud is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychotherapy Association and registered with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. She is also a member of the Junior League of Dallas, the Dallas Heart Ball and Baylor Alumni Association.
