Spring: Time of Hope and Choices|

Happy Spring! Mother Earth has awakened from her winter's rest. New buds are sprouting everywhere. Hope and the promise of new beginning is in the air.
Spring has long been revered as a time of renewal, birthing, and of devotion to the Divine Feminine. Many reaffirm the precepts of their faith in April/May. It is a time of christenings, baptisms and celebrating rebirth. In the Jewish tradition, Passover commemorates the Hebrews' liberation from enslavement in Egypt. The Christian faith honors the resurrection of Christ on Easter.
The underlying principles of each story invite us to elevate our consciousness and our humanity through their teachings of: choice, liberation, resurrection, rebirth, and redemption. They remind us that humanity has the power of choice and the ability to move beyond the world's current state of imbalance.
Our task is to free our Will from the mass patriarchal indifference to the soul's needs/wisdom. The domination of others by the power of financial capital or force reflects the values by which some institutions have been built.
The Universe encourages us to not be deterred by past conditioning, misguided duty, fear, or our own inertia. There will be those that try to convince us that the problem is change itself because they themselves fear losing control. Others will attempt to convince us that humanity's liberation comes solely from the use of intellect, false power, capital, and technology. We have come to realize that this mentality created our current state of ill health.
Humanity’s real liberation comes when we drop the mantle of greed and false power and heed the wisdom of our Hearts. We are waking up - individually and collectively. Something new is emerging within us - a greater Awareness of what is Real. Although we cannot see the fruit on the trees, the seeds are planted and new shoots are breaking ground.
This evolution of consciousness needs to be welcomed and nurtured. It is the beginning of a whole new creative impulse - one that is responsive to the value and import of all of Life. An entirely different potential for humanity is beginning to spring. We have within us the Soul Wisdom to see it through to fruition and to transcend and redeem ourselves. It is the spring of Hope and of Choices. I offer 2 parables to illustrate the lessons and gifts of this season.
Parable 1: The House That Choice Built
~ Author unknown
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer/contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family.
He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.
When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you."
What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.
So it is with us! We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created to find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that -- we certainly would have done it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only Life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life Tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make Today!
Parable 2: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody
~ Author unknown
This story is about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anyone could have.
Our task is to build a better World by building a better Self. It is our individual mission and our collective Soul endeavor. The time is now. We are the ones that we are waiting for. As we celebrate Spring and the promise of new beginnings – let us hold to the very best of ourselves and see it in others.
Blessings on the Journey!
