BECOMING YOUR CHILD’S BEST PRENATAL PARENT

Anji,Inc.teams up with The Institute for Perinatal Education to help women maximize the earliest connection between mother and child

(Minneapolis, MN)…While most expectant mothers would never dream of endangering their baby by ingesting dangerous drugs or chemicals, it is becoming evident that our negative thinking patterns and the psychological and physiological responses to them can be just as precarious. The emotional tone of a child starts developing before birth and becomes almost permanent by age three. Research demonstrates that prenatal stress affects the behavior of children for at least four years and most likely for the rest of the child’s life.

“Parenting begins at conception,” says Jennifer R. Bloome, Founder and President of Anji, Inc., located in Eagan, Minnesota. “Mothers are intimately connected with their child. A Mother’s negative emotions are carried across the placenta by messenger molecules impacting the baby’s brain development. This can affect a child’s emotional character for life, including their temperament, anxiety level and response to stress. Our job is to help mothers nourish the life growing inside of them with positive thoughts and feelings of love and joy.”

Enter a dynamic partnership between Jennifer Bloome/Anji Inc. and Dr. Fredrick Wirth M.D., Director of The Institute for Perinatal Education. Dr. Wirth has spent the past thirty years working with premature infants, offering all that medical science has to give. He recently was on staff at Tufts University School of Medicine and has served on Gubernatorial and Presidential task forces to reduce our nation’s high infant mortality rate. He was the recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics Young Investigator award for clinical research and the physician to Elizabeth Carr, American’s first test tube baby. The author of the recent book, Prenatal Parenting, Wirth coaches parents to tune in to the messages that they are giving their unborn child, through their thoughts as well as actions. Lessening the mother’s level of stress and negative thinking helps reducing the incidence of emotional and behavioral issues, including Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), later in life.

Jennifer Bloome will be teaching Prenatal Parenting ProgramÔ, a course for expectant parents, using a variety of techniques to work on providing the most ‘nutritious’ food for thought, including the use of The Relaxation Response. The exact opposite of the ‘fight or flight’ stress response, the relaxation response, utilizing meditation and visualization techniques, help the body to respond differently, eventually building up a stronger defense again stress and a weaker response to the hormones that induce it. “Relaxation practices have been found to help women emotionally and physically with some of the problems that can occur during pregnancy including morning sickness, fatigue and depression,” says Jennifer Bloome.

Bloome offers clients individual instruction, as well as group workshops in Mind-Body Techniques, based on the Relaxation Response that she learned through Harvard’s Mind-Body Medical Institute in Boston. An innovator in bringing the program directly to her clients be it in person, by telephone or through her interactive website (www.anjionline.com), Bloome has developed a line of custom recordings. Her newest series of recordings are packaged in a 3 CD set, addressing issues for mother and baby through each stage of pregnancy as well as labor and delivery. Tracks include ‘A Labour of Love’, ‘In the Beginning’ and ‘It’s your Birth day’. Bloome has also recently added a new set for postpartum tapes that include a relaxing meditation for breast feeding and bonding with baby called ‘A Bond like no other’. The CD’s are available individually and as a set.

“Raising a emotionally healthy and happy child is a long physical, emotional and spiritual process,” says Bloome from her Minneapolis based offices. “We are thrilled to begin with a prenatal connection, forging a relationship between mother and child to last a lifetime.”

FROM CONCEPTION TO COMPLETION…AND BEYOND

Anji,Inc.guides women along the road more (and less) travelled

(Minneapolis, MN)…Having a baby used to be largely limited to picking out names, decorating a nursery and sharing your joy with family and friends. And while many women still enjoy these rites of motherhood, a growing number struggle on the road less traveled.

“Even in the best circumstances, many women find their pregnancies to be filled with worry and self doubt, feelings that are exacerbated by the myths that they should instead be glowing and glorious,” says Jennifer R. Bloome, Founder and President of Anji, Inc. “Whether your pregnancy (and subsequent labor and birth) is an easy experience or a difficult one, there are still a great many hurdles to overcome including tests for mother and baby, physical and emotional changes and the preparation of becoming a mother. Our goal is to support expectant and new mothers regardless of what they are feeling.”

Bloome is also aware that the challenges don’t end in the birth day celebration. Postpartum brings with it a new set of objectives and concerns, with Breast Feeding being one of the first major choices a new mother must make. “Even those mothers with the best intentions and the greatest support may find breast feeding to be more difficult than anticipated,” says Bloome. “Relaxing into the process helps make most things during pregnancy and afterwards, including breast feeding, easier and more enjoyable.”

Enter Bloome and Anji, Inc. as a guide to directing women down whatever path they may find themselves on with the help of The Relaxation Response. “In addition, relaxation and meditation, when practiced regularly, greatly reduce the incidence of post partum depression.”

The CD’s are available individually and as a set.

“A baby is a long physical, emotional and spiritual process,” says Bloome from her Minneapolis based offices. “Our goal is to take our clients from conception to completion and beyond, forging a relationship between mother and child to last a lifetime.”

PEACEFUL MIND YIELDS FERTILE BODY

Anji, Inc. helps women visualize the road to baby

(Minneapolis, MN)…Most women are familiar with the ‘directive’ to just RELAX. Whether spoken by employer, partner, friend or relative, the idea of relaxation is generally thought to be a well meaning suggestion to help cure whatever ails you whether that be mental, emotional or physical.

More and more, women are hearing this advice from the medical community as well to help address problems that may range from infertility to pregnancy care, from menstrual and menopausal discomfort to chronic illness. “The edict to RELAX can be stressful in and of itself,” says Jennifer R. Bloome, President and Founder of Anji Inc. “Generally, those that are being given this advice are in the midst of dealing with stressful conditions which make relaxation even more difficult. In addition, very few of the amateurs and professionals that recommend relaxation offer a plan to achieve it.”

This disconnect from suggestion to reality is what motivated Jennifer Bloome to visualize Anji, Inc. in 1999. Having experienced her own battle with infertility as well as subsequent problems in pregnancy that resulted in cesarean births, Jennifer knew first hand the pain and anxiety associated with trying to conceive and being pregnant. “Over 6 million women today struggle with infertility,” says Bloome. “For those who actually become pregnant, there is still the stress in knowing that 12 percent of births in the United States are premature (babies born prior to 37 weeks). Just the facts alone are enough to make the road to baby a difficult journey.”

Based in part on Jennifer’s training with Herbert Benson at the Mind-Body Medical Institute in Boston, Anji, Inc. has taken this rough road and transformed it into a Journey of the Heart, an opportunity for women, near and far, to be personally guided through whatever their path may be.

“Anji is an Ojibwa word meaning Change,” says Bloome. “Change is inevitable throughout our lives. It is our reaction to it that determines whether the results will be stress or growth. Our goal is to direct that change towards reducing the physical and mental effects of stress, fear and anxiety; particularly as it relates to Infertility and Pregnancy.”

-more-

Stress can sometimes fuel this change, but often it leaves individuals in a state of feeling overwhelmed and out of control. Enter Jennifer Bloome, Anji, Inc. and The Relaxation Response. The exact opposite of the ‘fight or flight’ stress response, the relaxation response, utilizing meditation and visualization techniques help the body to respond differently, eventually building up a stronger defense again stress and a weaker response to the hormones that induce it.

Bloome offers clients individual instruction in Mind-Body Techniques, based on the Relaxation Response, as well as group workshops.

And while Bloome has serviced hundreds of clients in person, she recognizes the need to provide assistance to those who are out of her reach. “Whether my clients are here or listening to one of the CD’s, my job is to make sure that they’re never alone. I am available to my clientele by phone, by computer and of course in person”

An innovator in her field, Bloome has developed a line of custom recordings (available on compact disc), which offer a range of topics related to trying to conceive, and infertility including conceiving

naturally, with medications or with advanced reproductive techniques such as In Vitro Fertilization. Each of the recordings address the emotional, physical and psychological obstacles involved with every stage of the process. Other series of recordings are available for women journeying through each trimester of Pregnancy. Those not in the baby-making mode can benefit from the General Health CD’s. Perhaps one of the most unique offerings is the Custom Recordings and the ‘Mix your Own’, where clients can request specific tracks that Jennifer creates and records to address their individual needs. And, in a testament to her commitment to accompany her clients on their journey, Jennifer provides support by phone and through her interactive website, www.AnjiOnline.com, where clients can gain more information from teleclasses, articles and discussions, while interested parties can ‘sample’ the offerings by listening to portions of the recordings available.

“You can’t just sell someone a CD or a book and then expect them to experience a complete transformation,” says Bloome. “That’s as unlikely as just telling them to Relax. Anji, Inc. works because we provide our clients with a customized plan that focuses on individual attention and personal follow up.” For Jennifer Bloome and Anji, Inc., relaxation is a serious business.

Testimonials

Minneapolis, MN - Monday, June 06th 2005 - What customers are saying:

“I was experiencing difficulties getting pregnant so I was going through fertility treatments (two IUIs and an IVF) with no success. We were going to start another cycle in March so we figured in the meantime we would try naturally. I bought your meditations for a natural cycle and I used it for this cycle only and it worked. Not only that, I just found out that I'm pregnant with twins. All without any help but your calming cd.” -- Sharon N., Santa Monica CA

"Your CDs are amazing! I just found them recently and I am so glad! I have PCOS and we have tried to get pregnant on and off for a year and a half. We have gone through 3 cycles of Clomid and just finished our first round of Gonal-f. We started shots/IUI route about the time I found your CDs. I started listening to the "Imagery and Meditations to support a Medicated Fertility Cycle" on day 1 or 2 and we ended up having to convert to IVF! I had 47 follicles which resulted in 39 eggs. Of the 39, we got 19 embryos. Transfer is tomorrow and we have 7 frozen and 12 still in good shape in the incubator. I'm convinced that your CD gave me the boost I needed. I've been relaxed through the whole thing and very confident. I purchased the IVF CD, received it today and will start track 2 tomorrow after transfer. I'm so confident that I'll get a positive result soon, I ordered the first pregnancy CD. Thanks again from a happy customer!" - Lynne W, Grayson, GA

"I just wanted to let you know that I love the CD, it really is relaxing and enjoyable. I look forward to my time alone at night when I get to listen to my CD, it is already helping me to be in a more calm and positive state of mind." – Ilene P, Philadelphia PA

"I've been impressed with her professionalism, thoroughness, and compassion….she has tremendous insight and sympathy for those of us who are struggling with IF. – Jeannine L, Pittsburgh PA

"You do excellent work!" – Ann K, Denver CO

"It is a beautiful CD and very touching!" – Joan P, Boston, MA

"Your CD is wonderful. I listened to the first track last night and it has already cleared up the fuzzy feeling! I feel more in control" – Debbie J, Michigan

"Thank you for your recording, I used it during my last In Vitro attempt. Your recording is what got me through the cycle without going insane." – Julie W, Crestwood, KY

"I am so glad my mother-in-law saw you on TV and referred you to me. Since I was just about to start my third IVF cycle, I knew that I needed something to help me to relax and sleep better. I can’t say enough how thrilled I am with your program. It has brought a calm state-of-being not only to the IVF process but also to every day stress. Your soothing voice and compassion for helping are noticed and appreciated. I really enjoy my CD’s and listen to them as often as I can because I come away with a positive outlook and a better sense of control over my body and situation. Your relaxation and guided imagery have been a huge asset to my IVF cycle and I have a renewed sense of hope for a happy outcome!" - Jane H, St. Paul MN

“I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. We have been ttc for almost one year now and have suffered one loss in Oct. 2003. I became completely stressed out, depressed, and obsessed w/getting pregnant. Last month I decided to take everyone's advice and "just RELAX". However, I wasn’t sure *how* to "just RELAX", so I started doing yoga 3X/wk, acupuncture, and doing your guided imagery/relaxation CD's every day. Your CD's truly helped me relax so deeply, and I believe the imagery is so powerful! Well, good news, I'm now using your first trimester imagery cd daily, and love it just as much. Yes, I'm pregnant! Thank you so much for what you do. Keep up the good work Anji, Inc.! You're the greatest!” – Lisa A., Sacramento CA
