Life coach pens book on overcoming divorce, thriving

Bergen County - Wednesday, July 25th 2012 - Life Coach Beth Tiger has some advice for fellow New Jerseyan Tom Cruise: Lose the story and learn the lesson. Tiger, who has counseled numerous celebrities - as well as men and women all over the state and country - on how to thrive, not just survive the painful process of divorce.

"Unfortunately, there has been a rise in divorce in 2012," Tiger says. "As the economy got a little better, people had more money and could afford their divorces."

But why divorce has become what Tiger calls an "epidemic" in society is another story.

"There are so many reasons....people want quick fixes to their problems, they don't want to put in the necessary work to fix their broken relationship, social media sites offer easy ways to reconnect to past lovers ....there are just too many unfortunate reasons," she says.

For the past five years, the Upper Saddle River resident who also owns a wellness center in Ramsey called A Life Well-Lived, has been teaching a workshop called Flying Solo. It became so popular that she was urged to write a book. Rising from the Ashes of Divorce was released June 1 and has already topped Balboa's best-seller list.

"One out of two adults will go through the painful process of divorce and separation. As a divorcée and life coach, I felt a calling to help others," says Tiger.

Tiger used her own experience of divorce, and the grief that comes with it, to write her book. Her book isn't just a self-help book. Tiger calls it a "workbook." It includes tough questions, homework assignments, prayers and affirmations to use daily.

"When I was getting separated, all I wanted was to feel love again and have the tools to create a new life," she says. "It's not a quick fix, but my life is better now than ever before."

During the grief and anger process, Tiger explains, she learned to forgive by deepening her relationships with God, herself, her family and even her ex-husband. In fact, she acknowledges her ex in the book's forward and even thanks him for their time together . . . something she never thought possible.

"Many people will come to my center and speak poorly about their exes," Tiger says. "My advice is always the same: Lose the story and learn the lesson."

She says Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may be celebrities but their story strikes a similar chord with many other couples. Katie Holmes filed for divorce in June. As Tiger says, women do the majority of filing and usually wait until the end of the school year making June and July the busiest months for divorce attorneys.

Tiger's advice to Cruise and Holmes: Find gratitude every day, don't fight in front of your daughter, and learn to forgive.

"The real healing begins when you bless and release a person who no longer serves you," she says. "I'll repeat my favorite line: Lose the story, learn the lesson. Don't get caught up in the pain of your past because you will never move forward into a bright future."

Tiger is remarried and lives in Upper Saddle River with her blended family.

A Life Well Lived comes to Ramsey
Wellness center opening in Ramsey, NJ

Ramsey, NJ - Wednesday, February 23rd 2011 - A LIFE WELL-LIVED CENTER FOR INSPIRED LIVING TO OPEN IN RAMSEY

Imagine an inviting haven where one can pause to reflect, share ideas, embrace change, learn, and dream. A Life Well-Lived Center for Inspired Living offers all this and more. Beth Tiger, experienced life coach, speaker and author of the soon-to-be-published Flying Solo, envisions creating a local wellness community in her beautiful new, light-filled space, located at 43 Spring Street in Ramsey.

Everyone is welcome to join in the celebration and to learn more at the Center’s Grand Opening on Saturday, April 2nd, from 12 – 4 pm. Light refreshments will be served and Laurel Gross, LMT, will offer complimentary chair massages, with donations being given to Raphael’s Life House in Elizabeth, a charity that helps homeless pregnant women and their children (an outreach of Covenant House). Beth will discuss her mission and upcoming community-minded events at the Center.

Beth will offer life-coaching services, including her Flying Solo series of workshops (thriving, not surviving, after divorce), support for single parents, meditation, and a spiritual book group; she plans to keep groups limited to 15 participants so that everyone has an opportunity to be heard. In addition to a weekly lunch group with an MSW, special guests will be featured at the center weekly (from healers to green cleaning experts to spiritual artists – a calendar of upcoming events will be presented quarterly). Please go to www.alifewellived.com for upcoming events or to sign up for the Center’s e-newsletter. Beth is looking forward to ideas for other learning forums from members of the community. The cozy space allows visitors to enjoy a cup of tea while sharing ideas with others interested in personal growth.

Books on wellness and beautifully handcrafted, fair-trade items for personal growth are available in the gift store. Many pieces are one-of-a kind; moreover, Beth is the exclusive source in the Northeast for several of these healing tools, which cannot be found elsewhere. Her commitment to fair trade ensures that every purchase is a conscientious one.

In addition, Laurel Gross will offer therapeutic massages by appointment. She has developed a wide range of techniques and uses proprietary oils not available anywhere else in the United States for a total sensory experience.

After the Grand Opening, the Center will be open every Saturday and Monday through Friday by appointment. For more information, please call (845) 258-0333 or visit www.alifewellived.com.

Introducing Beth Tiger
Introducing Beth Tiger

Bergen County - Wednesday, June 06th 2012 - Born in Queens, NY & raised in Paramus, author Beth

Tiger started her life in Bergen County, New Jersey, and then

found her way to worlds beyond. Tiger is a world traveler— she

just returned from France— but it was her spiritual passage,

from hell to heaven, that gave her the compassi".

“One out of two adults will go through the painful process

of divorce and separation. As a divorcée and life coach, I felt a

calling to help others because I learned you can thrive—not just

survive—after divorce,” says Tiger.

Tiger used her own experience of divorce, and the grief

that comes with it, to create the “Flying Solo” workshop, which

she teaches throughout the country and at her wellness center,

A Life Well-Lived, in Ramsey. Tiger’s advice has been in high

demand, so she has written a book as another way to help people who feel lost in the grieving process. Her book isn’t just a

self-help book. Tiger calls it a “workbook.” It includes tough

questions, homework assignments, prayers and affirmations to

use daily.

“When I was getting separated, all I wanted was to feel

love again and have the tools to create a new life,” she says.

“This work can be hard at times, It’s not a quick fix, but my life

is better now than ever before & she is confident it can heal

other wounded hearts, I see the miracle of this type of transformation again & again in my workshops. Hope is the gift.”

During the grief and anger process, Tiger explains, she

learned to forgive by deepening her relationships with God,

herself, her family and even her ex-husband. In fact, she

acknowledges her ex and even thanks him for their time together and their children . . . something she never thought possible.

“Many people will come to my center and speak poorly

about their exes,” Tiger says. “My advice is always the same:

Lose the story and learn the lesson. When you stay in your

story, you are in the past. Never feeling empowered or truly in

the moment.”

Facing 40, Tiger had two young children, a beautiful home

and a successful career. It looked like a fairy tale, the kind that

most young girls are taught to dream about. Yet it wasn’t a fairy

tale. When her marriage started to crumble, Tiger found herself

in unfamiliar and frightening territory. But by strengthening her

relationships, she became stronger—and better.

Tiger still has strong Bergen County roots. She and her

new husband live in Upper Saddle River with their blended

family. With the popularity of the “Flying Solo” series on the

rise, Tiger is now teaching facilitators to teach her “Flying

Solo” workshop.

“My life will never be a fairy tale, I realize now, but I can save

myself. My life has become so much more then I could have

ever imagined. I am thankful every day for what I have and

take nothing for granted,” she says.
