Diatomaceous earth (the petrified remains of prehistoric sea creatures called diatoms) is excellent as a natural pesticide? It won’t harm pets, children, plants, or your environment. A light dusting of diatomaceous earth around your cupboards and baseboards will eliminate fleas, cockroaches, ants, weevils, and silverfish. Sprinkle some in your pet’s bedding and on your rugs and furniture (very lightly), and even in your yard to eliminate fleas.
Did you also know that diatomaceous earth is an excellent addition to your pet’s food? It contains numerous trace minerals which are often missing from commercial pet food. Use in MODERATION.
Be sure to get the food grade diatomaceous earth, as the pool grade has been heat treated and doesn’t work for this purpose.
