Massage Therapist Anne Atkinson has in her bag of tools Swedish Massage, Foot Reflexology, Soft Tissue Release, Myo-fascial Release and Polarity Therapy. She works with Physical Therapists, Chiropractors and Fitness Centers. For those immobilized for any reason and for the dying, Anne makes home visits.
Profile and Credentials
Anne considers a great part of her training to be the 20 years before going to massage school, in which she received a massage almost every month. Also, in 1990 she was initiated in the 1st degree of Usui Reiki. In 1999, she was certified in Sebastopol, California. In 2000, she received the 2nd degree of Reiki. After practicing there in spas, in her own practice and in a cooperative handling medical referrals, she returned to her native New Orleans in 2004. After being licensed for the National Board and for Louisiana, she set up her own practice again in 2006. That same year she completed the Reiki Master Teacher initiation. While in California, Anne trained and volunteered with the Attitudinal Healing Center, the Sonoma County End-of-Life-Care Alliance and Hospital Chaplaincy.
Philosophy and Comments
Anne uses very few products when working hands-on with clients: moist heat, ice and Bio-Freeze.
