Massage Therapy Inst of MO

Description

600-hour integrative massage education; one-year, part-time program. Medical/Clinical massage focus. Diverse faculty averages two dozen of the area's most established professionals, majority with advanced massage backgrounds and active practices. Lab classes limited to 8 students in each afternoon or evening, combined on weekend lecture classes for a total of 16 per cohort. Financial aid limited to Veteran's/Voc Rehab, internal payment plans, external online financing, MC/Visa, and scholarships. Great medium-sized, progressive city in four-season climate.

Profile and Credentials

A member of the American Massage Therapy Association's council of Schools, founder and owner Mirra Greenway is active in state and national organizations.
Established in 1993 to provide continuing education for the area therapists, along with co-founder Esteban Ruvalcaba, MTIM led the way in establishing a community of the first Nationally Certified therapists. Also active in Missouri State legislative process for licensing, MTIM has been known for graduating competent professionals who become life-long learners.

Philosophy and Comments

MTIM seeks to nurture the student's intuitive and individualized approach into her/his unique style. No cookie-cutter massages. The student becomes the client, formulating a treatment plan addressing his/her own limitations and desired outcomes. Functional goals are set and each student embarks upon a year-long journey of self-discovery, assessment, and treatment. Rotating lab partners and an equal number of massages received to those given (two per week per person) create an environment of growth and change.
