Philosophy and Comments

The essence of what happens at Sage Center for Yoga and Healing Arts is tapping into our human life force energy or "chi", and finding ways of removing obstacles to this energy flow.

We all face so much stress in our daily lives trying to juggle the pressures of work and family that it is imperative we learn more beneficial ways to care for ourselves. Our Mother Earth has been providing us with healing energy vibration our entire lives and all we have to do is learn how to receive it.

Understanding "chi" and how it flows through the body is key to living in optimal health.

Through Yoga and Meditation, we increase our own "chi", and we find our peaceful center that is incredibly restorative to the body, mind, and spirit.

By directly receiving energy through Reiki, Reflexology, Plant Spirit Healing and Vibrational Healing we calm our central nervous system and bring balance to our own energy vibrations, working to clear our energy centers or "chakras", and bringing our bodies into balance and harmony.

Work Hours and Fee Schedule

Monday through Saturday, 10 AM - 7 PM

Yoga

Gentle Hatha Yoga Classes Experience the benefits of traditional yoga exercises. Gentle stretching movements and guided meditation can reduce stress, increase flexibility, build strength and quiet the mind. Classes Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00–7:15 pm Purchase 5 consecutive classes for $50. A time-honored healing technique designed to restore the flow of energy throughout the body.

Plant Spirit Healing

Using basic concepts of 5 element theory (organ systems relating to earth, fire, wood, water, metal) and through pulse taking, the practitioner calls on the spirit of plants and herbs to assist in the healing process. This shamanic practice is based on the premise that profound healing must take place on spiritual levels.

Reflexology

What is Reflexology? Reflex areas on the feet are linked to systems and organs of the body. A gentle massage of the feet is restorative to the whole body. Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which works on the feet to help heal the whole person and not just the prevailing symptoms. How can reflexology help me? Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. Reflexology has been shown to be effective for: · Back Pain · Migraine · Infertility· Arthritis · Sleep disorders · Hormonal imbalances · Sports injuries · Digestive disorders · Stress-related conditions Who can benefit from reflexology? Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. While many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress, at the same time many doctors, consultants and other health care professionals recognize reflexology as a well established, respected and effective therapy. How will I feel after a reflexology treatment? After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very definite way. Most people note a sense of well-being and relaxation.Reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. With ever increasing levels of stress, it is important people take more responsibility for their own health care needs. Reflexology helps us to cope on a physical, mental and emotional level thereby encouraging us to heal and maintain health in all areas of our lives. What happens when I go for treatment? On the first visit, the reflexology practitioner will have a preliminary talk with you to determine your present and past health and lifestyle. The reflexologist will then use their hands to gently massage the feet. The application and the effect of the therapy is unique to each person.A professionally trained reflexologist can detect subtle changes in specific points on the feet, and by working on these points may affect the corresponding organ or system of the body. A treatment session usually lasts for about one hour.

Vibrational Healing with Sound

Experience the wonder of sound through tuning forks, drums, rattles, gongs, chimes, Tibetan bowls and bells to clear blockages, relieve stress and promote well being. Applying sound directly on the body stimulates and balances the body's physical and subtle energy fields to promote healing and inner harmony.

Cultures have used music and musical instruments to unite, empower, deepen the spirit and heal. The essence of music is an extremely powerful healing tool by itself. Today we use it in treatments to help bring people back to wellness, wholeness, balance and harmony.
