About Theo Mordey:

Thanks for coming and checking out my website. My name is Theo Mordey. I have been very deeply involved with music since I was seven years old when I picked up my first drum sticks. Since then, I have had a rich musical career which eventually also transcended into the sound arena. I have had the opportunity to play drums for some great musicians and be involved with exciting projects.

After getting my Bachelor’s Degree from The California Institute Of the Arts in Valencia where I took lessons from great musicians/instructors including John Bergamo (Frank Zappa), Tootie Heath( Famous Jazz Drummer), Efrain Toro (Session Drummer), and Dave Johnson, I got asked to play drums/percussion on tour with Jesus Christ Super Star, Tommy, and then Evita.

After returning from those tours and having been a part of many recording projects as a drummer, played drums for many regional musical productions and having taught drum lessons for years (since I was 17), I decided that I wanted to be involved in all aspects of Music , Audiobooks, and Film, so I got into the recording engineering/post production side as well. I started off with a Hard Drive Portable 16 Track which, many recordings and mixes later, evolved into my Pro Tools Studio that I have today.

I have worked on a lot of Film, Audiobook and Music projects with many happy clients including Julie Brown, Pixote Hunt (Director of “Fantasia 2000”/ “Tarzan”), Jean Michel Byron (Toto), Kim Norton ( guitarist for Roger Daltrey: The Who), Jerry Robbins( Vice President/Director of The Colonial Radio Theater On the Air- Sirius 80) Estradasphere, Masahiro Nitta ( famous Shamisen player) I also earned a Certificate Of Completion in Pro Tools/Recording Engineering/Post Production from Video Symphony in Burbank and have taken Audiobook narration classes from Pat Fraley, and Scott Brick.
