Work Hours and Fee Schedule

Thai Yoga Massage Training

The Thai Yoga Massage training program consists of 72 hours of classroom training, receiving a 90-minute Thai Yoga Massage, receiving 6 hours of private one-on-one tutorials, and logging a minimum of 50 hours of practice.

This highly organized, step-by-step training includes demonstrated massage sequences, followed by substantial hands-on practice. We focus on proper body mechanics, mindfulness in how we move our bodies, and smooth transitions between poses. Classes include supervised practice and individual follow-up during three private tutorials.

In the 2-day Introductory workshop, you will learn a variety of distinct poses, as well as, the history and philosophy of Thai Yoga Massage, basic principles and various techniques.

The material presented in each one-day Intensive (Levels 2-5) is equivalent to 2 day's worth of study. Because these classes are small, you receive one-on-one feedback so that you are able to learn and practice each pose successfully.

In Level 2, you will review the Level 1 material, learn a variety of new distinct poses, as well as learn the Sen energy lines. In Levels 3-5, you will learn a variety of advanced poses in each class. In the Advanced Thai Therapeutics: Upper Body workshop, we will focus on treatment for the upper back, neck and shoulders. In the Acupressure for Bodyworkers class, you will learn 68 of the most common acupressure points in the body. In The Art of Sequencing a Thai Yoga Massage, you will practice portions from the 9 unique sequences covered in class, including sequences for general relaxation, upper body conditions and lower body conditions. For a more complete description of each class, see the course description page @ www.soaringcranemassage.com/wor_cert.html

The three one-on-one private tutorials include constructive feedback to assist you in improving and refining your skills.

Integrated Thai Table Massage

Credits: 16 CE Contact Hours

Prerequisites: None

Thai Yoga Massage is an interactive form of spiritual bodywork that combines yoga, stretching, gentle rocking, and rhythmic compression along energy lines. In this 2-day workshop, participants will learn to use their hands, forearms, elbows, and feet to open and gently release blockages that inhibit the flow of energy, or Qi.

While traditional Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat, this class has been adapted to those who work on a massage table. It is suited for clients who are unable to receive bodywork on a mat and is a great way to introduce clients to Thai Yoga Massage.

Essential elements of Thai Yoga Massage, its historical context, and fundamental techniques applied in the supine, prone, side-lying, and seated positions will be taught. Participants will receive a complementary workbook with photographs and detailed descriptions of an introductory sequence of poses, which comprise a 60-90 minute full-body Thai Yoga Massage session.

Participants will practice draping techniques and learn when to integrate a variety of bodywork techniques such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Reflexology into this routine. Class will begin each day with a one-hour yoga warm-up. The course will have lecture, demonstration, and hands-on components. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 16 NCBTMB CE hours.
