Description

In practice since 1996, Rose De Dan, Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing, blends animal communication and Reiki and shamanic energy healing in a unique way. Inspired by a shamanic vision where wild and domestic animals are calling for action to save the Earth and assistance in co-creating a better future for all, her classes, events, ceremonies and products are created with the intention of helping people heal themselves and live in harmony and connection with All Our Relations.

Profile and Credentials

UNLEASH YOUR ANIMAL SPIRIT

As a child growing up in South Jersey—when she didn’t have her nose stuck in a book—Rose could usually be found under the table with the dogs, outside communing with the willow tree, or curled up and sharing secrets with the cats. The animals, the stones, the trees were her friends and companions, and reading fairy tales made this all seem quite normal.

As she grew older a different picture began to emerge. One day as she was walking down a neighborhood street, trailed by a line of cats, a boy on a bike stopped in wonder at the parade and blurted out, “What are you, some kind of witch?”

And Rose sadly realized that not everyone understood it was possible to communicate with animals and the natural world. She began to hide what she knew from others, and in putting her dreams away, she forgot about them and who she was.

“When the animals share with us who they are, they also show us the way back to who we are.”
—Rose De Dan, Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing

THINK OUTSIDE THE CAGE

In 1996, while living in Worcester, Mass., Rose felt drawn to take a class in Reiki. During the attunement process she had a life-changing experience and was gifted with a vision of a healing practice for animals. In pursuing that vision, Rose began to remember her childhood dreams, and her practice began evolving into ways of building bridges between people and domestic and wild animals, healing all in the process.

A dapper black and white tuxedo cat Shaman made teaching and healing the clients and students his special focus. By working in tandem with Rose in sessions for people, Shaman helped create the principal philosophies of Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing: equality between species, and animals as teachers and healers.

And the evolution of building bridges between species continued with the assistance of Rose’s animal clients. During the sessions they would say, “Please help my person. He/she is unhappy.”

Thus Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing was created, pioneering one of the first professional energy healing practices for people and animals in the U.S.

There were lots of adventures along the way and plenty of challenges and growth opportunities, some of which are documented in Rose’s book Tails of a Healer: Animals, Reiki and Shamanism, featuring 45 true, heartwarming stories about animals and their roles in her life and evolution as an energy worker and shamanic healer.

Rose continues to write new stories for her blog. A former columnist for About.com’s Ask An Animal Reiki Shaman, she has another book in the works, and has given numerous radio, TV and print interviews.

Rose trained on the East coast in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and became a Reiki Master Teacher and pioneer in Reiki for animals in 1996.

Additional training included the wisdom of Native American and North and South American shamans, Tibetan Buddhist monks, T’ai Chi and Qigong instructors, and numerous animal teachers.

In addition to her shamanic training and Reiki certifications, Rose has a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from Clark University and a background in graphic design. Her website also offers gifts and supplies for Reiki and shamanic practitioners.

Philosophy and Comments

As a practitioner, writer, and speaker, Rose has been a tireless advocate for alternative healing as a process to promote personal growth and change, as well as for building bridges between people, animals, and the natural world.
