Morningstar Midwifery is a small homebirth practice providing complete prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. We also offer well-woman care, fertility counseling, menopausal support, childbirth education classes, doula services, and the option of waterbirth at home. We attend births within a 60 mile radius of Belfast. Consultations are free for families wanting to find out more about the homebirth option and our style of midwifery care.

Morningstar Midwifery is a partnership of two midwives, Donna Broderick and Ellie Daniels. We are both Certified Professional Midwives and Donna is a Certified Childbirth Educator. We attend prenatals, births, and postpartum visits together, offerring the combined experience of over 30 years and 900 births.

Birth is a natural process. Midwifery care is about supporting women to attain optimal health during their pregnancies. Much attention is paid toward good nutrition, an active lifestyle, healthy relationships and support of any ongoing medical problems. Midwifery care is also focused on education. In our 1 1/4 hour appointments, parents are helped to attain important information so that they are able to make truly informed choices about their own care and the care of their newborn.

All prenatal and well-woman visits are scheduled in 1 and 1/4 hr. appointments. Our services are offerred on a sliding scale.
