I have lived in NH since 1978, grew up in New England and have spent many days and evenings experiencing a connection with the ocean, forests, fields and mountains that define this region.

I have lived on the land with limited technological resources for periods of time, studying local environments and experiencing them in my heart. The indigenous people, native to New England and throughout the world have for thousands of years valued nature for the healing gifts it offers to the mind, body and soul. I have been fortunate to learn from the oral traditions of the elders of various nations, and to be a recipient of their

healing work.

These teachings have magnified for me the power and the grace of a relationship with Mother Earth. I have also worked providing health and mental health counseling services to terminally ill, physically ill and troubled teens, families and with those working through addictions. These experiences only deepened my conviction that many of us today can benefit from reconnecting to Nature.

Today my work is teaching and providing services and products to people that enhance and enliven our connections to the powerful comforts that nature provides. For Mother Earth to be able to offer her full potential, she must be treated with respect, be honored and cared for. The process of researching, assembling and verifying the quality of rare and vintage oils is one which I carry out with the diligence of understanding that these products can offer nature’s support even when we can’t be in nature.

My vision of personal healing holds our involvement with and understanding of nature as the key. I have a commitment to assist people in developing this relationship with ease: families, individuals, children, and people recovering from illness, or with those who are older or beginning the transition to afterlife.

I offer simple services: wellness coaching, career coaching from the heart, stone massage, Maya Healing, guided experiences with nature (gentle walks, active meditation, and participation in activities of nature), and workshops.

Nature reminds us that we can always create a new story. A new season will emerge; a new day will dawn in which we can engage with the magical interplay of the sun, earth, wind and waters with our spirits and in our lives. Nature reflects light and love back to us. As my clients in the health and mental health arena shared portions of their lives with me, I saw the urgent need to have this simple experience.

Being with nature means age and past experience have no bearing on someone’s ability to find comfort in any of these approaches. A desire, however undeveloped, for finding the healing and restorative powers in a relationship with the Mother Earth is the only pre-requisite.

Nature offers a bounty available to all. It is my dream that everyone can return home, can find within themselves, the ability to reconnect to Mother Earths gifts and support. I am committed to sharing the comforts and healing powers of nature with all that I meet. Namaste.

The Essential oil, aromatherapy market growth explosion has yielded products which are altered, hurried (chemically) and otherwise reduced from their full healing and vibrational powers. In growing plants, more plants yield more oils which yield more profit. This push to market has encouraged the production of essential oils that are of inferior quality and healing properties.

When this level of attention is not paid, essential oils and products formulated from essential oils have less of the life force of the plant, the essential aspect of assisting us to shift, and are felt as less potent. This can occur for many reasons including the following factors:

Introducing chemicals to spur plants growth, as well as natural climatic changes and conditions crop to crop and geographic region of growth affect the oils chemical make-up and thus their potency and vibration. Harvesting techniques can greatly influence the plants chemical constituency and therefore their life force in essential oil form (therapeutic property). Many healing properties can be lost.

How plants are handled, the freshness they possess when processing begins and the actual method of processing can severely restrict the plants ability to produce the effects predicted and researched. Mother Anita’s® Story

Mother Anita's products began in the dream world and in the work to reclaim my loss of my mother. I began Hummingbird Therapeutics and production of Mother Anita’s Comfort Balm following a lifelong involvement with the ocean, plants and nature. What unfolded from this involvement and my work was beyond my dreams, but not beyond my mothers'. My mother died when I was six months of age.

I heard throughout my childhood many stories of my Mother’s loving, caring and devoted nature to children, pets, and people. Mother Anita was devoted to joy, to playfulness, to life and living it. Forty years later her devotion to healing was shown to me and she assisted me in claiming joy, healing and playfulness through a new balm, made from aromatherapy ingredients, Comfort Balm.

The formula for the first balm came from research into the properties of different essential oils, understanding that no essential oil would provide healing properties unless it was a vintage, top quality oil, from ideas which came during times in which I received massages, and from my connecting with my mother. Unsure of what to call the product, I sought advice from others. I’m devoted to the earth and the restorative powers of the Mother Earth, a mother I had learned to trust and know well in my life. After turning the naming process over to others, I learned I was to call the product Mother Anita’s. Feeling too personal, I hesitated, yet trusted that if this was the name, I would be with it. To my surprise Mother Anita emerged time and again, as people asked “Who is Mother Anita?” In this way, her story and mine provided an opportunity for planting the seed of finding peace in loss.

Since the first naming of Mother Anita’s Comfort Balm, I’ve learned that this product emerged through Mother Anita to assist me in transitioning my sense of loss to the reality of a daily connection. Each day I work in Hummingbird Therapeutics, I work with my mother. She comes into my life often, as I recount with others the story which brought me to transform my deep sense of having lost her guidance in my life into rediscovering her guidance through the creation of the healing products I know make, and her sense of joy.

Mother Anita continues her caring and nurturing from afar, encouraging all who use my products to embrace the joyfulness; to play, and to find healing that Mother Earth and the plants so willingly offer to each of us.
