I practice both The Trager Approach and Reiki. Gentle, yet deeply effective, The Trager Approach, also known as Psychophysical Integration, uses movement to relax the body/mind, ease pain, release habitual patterns, reduce stress, improve athletic perfomance, ease chronic illness. Though the sensations are gentle, the work is profoundly deep. Both Trager and Reiki are gentle, nurturing and very safe making them appropriate for use by geriatric, pregnant or self-conscious clients, as well those recovering from addiction and abuse.

I am a Certified Trager Practitioner and have been practicing Trager for seven years. I am also a Reiki Master and a long-time yoga and meditation student. I have a BA in biology and a MA in Humanities. My interest in the beneficial effects of alternative care began many years ago while raising a family and also dealing with my own health challenges.

Trager essions are about 1 1/2 hours. Cost: $60 Reduced-cost packages of 3 or 5 sessions are available. Refer two people and receive a free session. Reiki sessions time varies. Cost: $45. By appointment. Will do on-site sessions.

The client wears loose, comfortable, collarless clothing.

Trager has an active component, Mentastics, that brings awareness to the body and is used for self care between session. During the passive part of the session, the client rests on a comfortable bodywork table. The practitioner applies rhythmic movements, soft compression, gentle stretches and shimmers to the body.

For Reiki, the client rest on a bodywork table. The practitioner uses hands resting very lightly on or just over the body.
