Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathy (natur-AH-path-y) is the art of natural healing. It is rooted in the belief in the body's inherent wisdom to heal itself. The science of Naturopathic Medicine is an emerging vital and holistic system of modern medicine; it is an art, a philosophy, a science, and an integral health care practice of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness using natural, non-toxic, non-invasive therapies. Naturopathic Physicians are trained in traditional medical sciences and clinical studies, integrating nutrition, botanicals, homeopathy, and bodywork to promote health and wellness, and to prevent chronic disease.

Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine is a system of diagnosis and healthcare that has evolved over the last 3,000 years. It is a system of preserving and balancing the mind, body, and spirit as a whole. The goal is to maintain or restore harmony in all aspects of the individual. Chinese medical theory explains that human beings have a natural flow of energy through the body, and that pain and disease are caused by an imbalance or blockage of this energy. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are used to restore harmony to one's energy flow, returning one's body to a healthy state.

Bowtech: the original Bowen Technique

What is Bowtech?

The Bowen Technique was created by Thomas A. Bowen (1903-1982) of Australia and is now practiced around the world. Bowen therapy is a gentle, soft-tissue body-work aimed at restoring the healing potential of one's body and mind. This unique therapy involves a series of gentle rolling ‘moves' over specific muscle sites using light touch. The ‘moves' induce a deep sense of relaxation and assists the body in realigning itself structurally while simultaneously rebalancing energy flow and initiating healing. This technique is as relaxing as massage, as powerful as Reiki, as deep as cranial sacral work, and as effective as physical spinal adjustments - all in one.

Bowen is often referred to as 'the homeopathy of body-work.' The restorative healing initiated at the cellular level and within the nervous system melts away pain, restrictions, and tensions. Bowen is effectively used for acute conditions of frozen shoulder, disc pain, strains and sprains as well as for chronic conditions of asthma, hay fever, stomach problems, and pain. This treatment is profound!

Acupuncture

The art of acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of very fine needles to assist in balancing the body and promote healing. The mental, emotional and spiritual aspects as well as the physical aspect are deeply affected by acupuncture.

Chinese medicine addresses the core issues and corrects imbalances on all levels. Five-Element acupuncture acknowledges and honors the ancient teachings of Chinese Medicine by addressing the body-mind-spirit interconnection.
