Yoga For Joy

Description        

We offer several different yoga classes from beginner to intermediate throughout the Portland/Beaverton/Tigard Area. You'll enjoy expert instruction in Ananda Yoga™ including the essentials of safe technique, enabling you to continue your practice at home. Learn how to adapt the postures to your own level of flexibility and experience, while exploring the spiritual dimensions of hatha yoga and the yoga/meditation connection.

Profile and Credentials        

David served on the teaching staff of Ananda's Expanding Light Retreat Center, and taught the following classes: Hatha Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Special Needs, Extra Gentle Yoga, and I assisted in the Ananda Teacher Training program. I am registered with the National Yoga Alliance as a certified level-two (500 hrs) Ananda Yoga Teacher. I am a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Philosophy and Comments        

The hatha yoga postures are not only a series of physical positions, but exercises in mental awareness. The yogi must be very deliberate in every movement. He must feel every muscle. Above all, he must try to become conscious of the energy as it directs the muscular movements...

Work Hours and Fee Schedule        

We teach throughout the Portland Area, Maps and Class locations are provided on the Website. Telephone numbers and how to register are located on the Class Schedules.

Yoga Teacher Training        

Our Level 1 200 hour training program is registered with Yoga Alliance. We have spent more than 25 years making our YTT into a first rate expression of the classical yoga schools of India.

A dynamic plend of professional training where you will learn classical meditation and pranayama, study the essential yoga philosophy, and learn the classical approach to Hatha Yoga.

Small class size, max class size of 15 students.
