Welcome to the Funky Monkey! Our hotel offers beautiful, spacious accomodations in Mal Pais/Santa Teresa, Costa Rica for reasonable rates. We are only 200m from the surfing beach and you can hear the ocean waves as you fall asleep.

We have been operating for three years now. We are growing every year, and creating a more blissful experience each season.
Philosophy and Comments
Our philosophy is to provide a comfortable, clean environment, built on the creation of friendships. We believe that a friendly atmosphere and quality service is the central necessity of an enjoyable experience.
Work Hours and Fee Schedule
We are open 24 hours. Our restaurant opens for breakfast at 8:00 am. We can do lunch for our guests if requested. We have sushi twice per week for dinner, and a delicious variety of home cooked food the other evenings.
Bungalows
We have 3 spacious bungalows, sleeping a maximum of four. These beautiful cabinas have a double bed, as well as two individual twin beds, private open sky bathroom, private porch with hammock and view. Each also comes with it's own mini-fridge, and hot water upon request.
Funky Monkey Restaurant
The restaurant and bar at the Funky Monkey, is open from 8:00 am daily. We serve almost anything from sushi to pizza, generally one main dish per day. We will open for lunch for special requests.
Shared Rooms
We offer dorm style housing as well, up to 16 beds. One of these bungalows with 8, can be rented in it's entirety. Each bed starts at $10, depending upon season and/or availability.
Apartments
We have two apartments available in December, with an ocean view overlooking the pool. Each is equipped with air conditioning, private bathroom, and a shared kitchen between the two apartments. Please feel free to reserve the first inaugural use of these beautiful brand new abodes.
