Joy of Birth: Doula, childbirth education

I am a Childbirth Mentor teaching a 6 week course which includes pain coping skills, basic anatomy and physiology of the birth process, nutrition, optimal fetal positioning for an easier labor and much more. I also provide labor support as a Birth Doula. This includes emotional, physical and informational support before, during and immediately after the birth.

Profile and Credentials

I was trained as a Birth Doula by Penny Simkin, noted author and co-founder of Doulas of North America. I was also trained as a Childbirth Mentor under the Birthing From Within philosophy. I am also currently a Midwifery student through WomanCraft.

Philosophy and Comments

I believe the year surrounding birth can be a beautiful time to learn and grow. Women's bodies are made to have babies and I believe all women should have as much information as they need in order to birth their babies in awareness. Knowing all of your options can be tough and I believe women should be guided through this sometimes confusing time with care.

Work Hours and Fee Schedule

I am currently organizing childbirth classes for November. Cost is $225 and includes a 275 page hardcover pregnancy journal to record all you learn on your journey to parenthood.

My Doula services are currently $400 and include 2 prenatal visits, continuous support from the onset of labor until 1-2 hours after birth and one post-partum visit.

I offer a $100 discount for my combined services and other financial options for those for who truly want a Doula but might not hire one due to the cost.
