I've been a disability activist for over twelve years in my local community, just outside Phila. PA. I've won the Barbara Dean Johnson scholarship award for my outstanding contribution to the disability rights movement in PA,2003. Participated in several nationwide disability related conferences. Cincinatti OH,1986 and Orlando Fl,2000 My site is an information site which emphasizes empowerment, equality.

My philosophy pretty much reflects the disability rights movement. Nothing about us without us. That is people with disabilities including me insist on full participation in whatever affects us. I also emphasize the positive. This is the reason I chose to title my site "DisABILITIES Information. Lastly I am a strong proponent of the "People First" movement. A person's disability is only a part of them. It isn't and should never be considered their sole identity. Example: It's not a diabetic. It's a woman with diabetes. man with diabetes, girl with diabetes, boy with diabetes or whatever disability, disorder they may have.
