Trolls carved the train depot form ash heaps. It was not a place where you could linger long before an improvised blade was put in your spine simply to see if it would fit. Overhead, the population of mud-puddle-drowned stuffed animals trodded on their soggy paws between soot smeared dollhouse skeletons. There were doggies, dollies and kittens; moo-cows, fuzzy pencils and smiling carrots. Some were blessed with wire skeletons that were bent by chance into akward shapes their owners could do nothing to change; others rolled through the filth, blind from dust cataracts on their cracked googly eyes...
