The River's Voice

Description

Greetings from the hills of Iowa...

The River's Voice is a fluid spirited blend of the voices of Trish and Richard Bruxvoort Colligan. They are known throughout North America for their retreats and concerts which explore the depths of spiritual life through music, worship and theology. Trish and Richard have been making music together for 10 years, and have been married for six. Together with their four-year-old son Sammy, they live in a century-old house with the hills of Northeast Iowa in their backyard.

Richard has his MA in Theology and the Arts from United Theological Seminary in liturgy and hymn composition. (www.worldmaking.net) Trish is a trained spiritual director specializing in retreats and healing for women, and is the Program Director for Spirations Institute for Interspiritual Formation. (www.spirations.com)

Musically, Trish's piano and Richard's acoustic guitar lend a folk-influenced backdrop to their smooth vocal harmonies. Drums and hand percussion add spice. Think James Taylor and Sarah McLaughlin, and you're close.

A River's Voice concert is full of stories, laughter, and music for young and old. In music and in leadership, Trish and Richard bring a quality of wonder, gratitude and reverence for the human journey.

The duo has published over a dozen CDs between them over the past ten years. Learn more at: www.riversvoice.com.

Philosophy and Comments

Music for loving and healing the world...

Being conscious of the head, heart, body and spirit is one of the great challenges of our time. Using music, poetry, chants, stories, ritual, and holy listening, we seek to create spaces of healing and wholeness. Our retreats are integrative of mind, body and spirit. Our music invites the stories of all.
