How does Reiki work?
The idea of Reiki is to eliminate chakra blockages. It is when we eliminate these blockages we see movement towards wellness or healing. My clients have reported that they feel more relaxed and balanced after a session. As well they report feeling more energetic, calm, and have a general sense of well being.
What is the Usui Natural Healing System?
The Usui System was originated by Dr Mikao Usui, who in the 1800's responded to a challenge from his university students to find out why people were not receiving healing as specified in the New Testament. During a mystical experience on the Holy Mountain Kori-yama he received the complete system of Reiki. Dr Usui spent the rest of his life practicing and teaching this method of natural healing that involves attunement to the energy and the laying-on of hands. The Usui system of Reiki continues to be taught today by Reiki Masters who are trained in the original traditions of Reiki and whose personal and professional lives are committed to this healing art.

*The ancient Sanskrit word "chakra" means wheel of light. Chakras are the internal generators and regulators of the life force that flows through the human energy system. Chakras are basically energy channels that run through the body along the spine and are located in different sections of the human body. Each chakra is considered a focal point and relates to spiritual, physical, and emotional energies that are tied in with the endocrine system. Chakras allow for the flow of energy into and out of the body. This energy flow comes from many sources including that of the Creator. Each chakra is one facet of an energy circulatory system. My name is Robin Littlefeather Hannon of Abide a While Reiki in Frederick Maryland. I am a certified Reiki practitioner and teacher with a Master in Sekem-Seichim, as well as Lightarian™ Reiki. I have always been drawn to healing and counseling. My intentions are as always to minister and bring light and healing into the lives of others. I believe very strongly in a calling to do this, and I further believe that Energy Healing for me will be a strong foundation. Without a foundation any edifice will crumble into the dust from where it was built. With a strong foundation however one can stand, knowing that winds may come, trials will buffet, but nothing shall move us. I believe any healing should be approached carefully, with reverence and respect. Each individual is different. No two souls are the same, and along with humility, I believe a healer must have faith, discernment, and most of all Love. It is this universal Love or Light manifested through any healer that does the ultimate work. We are just the vessels. We must remember that we in ourselves do nothing, but the Universal light through us is capable of miracles. It is with positive intent for the greater good of each soul we meet that we provide Reiki. It is with that intent we do our work. I believe any Healer needs wisdom, discernment, the ability to see that which needs healing and then allow healing to flow through them. Above all I want to be known more as a light in this world, leading the way through the darkness to something more peaceful, wholesome, and edifying. 
I have followed a healing path now for nearly twenty years. I started as a nondenominational lay minister and worked as one from 1980-1992.
