Description

Mary Zinman, an AMTA Certified Massage Therapist, is both a Practitioner and Teacher of Zero Balancing, and holds classes in CHI Philadelphia, and in her home at Cape May Point. Zero Balancing is the balancing of the structure and energy of the body, an amazing method which is capable of bringing about life-long changes in body/mind /spirit. It brings about deep relaxation while the work takes place at a structural level, and addresses any energy which is not flowing in the body. The client does not have to undress, but to lie on the back, comfortably clothed. Deep states of altered consciousness can be reached in which deep and lasting changes may occur. The work was conceived by Dr. Fritz Smith.

Profile and Credentials

Mary Zinman, a native of Australia, spent most of her life as a practicing musician. A violinist and violist, she spent her professional life in Australia, Europe and America, questioning the many physical problems which arose for so many of her fellow musicians. This lead her interests into the area of Bodywork and it was while in Baltimore that she finally had the opportunity to combine music with her Degree from the School Of Holistic Massage, becoming an A. M. T. A. Massage Therapist. It was the discovery of Zero Balancing, however, which finally made her decide to leave music and go fully into bodywork. She studied with the creator of the work, Dr. Fritz Smith, becoming a Practitioner and then a Teacher. Mary ZInman presently teaches in her idyllic beach home in Cape May Point, and in the Center for Human Integration in Philadelphia. She can be reached by E-mail at: satyammary@aol.com or Tel. 609-898-0411

Philosophy and Comments

Zero Balancing is a modality that emerged from the lifetime work of Dr. Fritz Smith. A Doctor of Osteopathy as well as Teacher and Practitioner of Acupuncture, Fritz Smith combined the Western Medical approach to structure, with the Eastern Modalities of Energy and Healing . It was after a long and intensely spiritual period in India that he created Zero Balancing. He gave up his medical practice to travel the world to teach this work and write. His book on Zero Balancing, "Inner Bridges" is available on the internet at zerobalancing.com He is soon to publish his second book.

Zero Balancing is a gentle hands-on body work, in which the Client lies on their back, clothed comfortably, and the Practitioner works with his or her hands under the body, on the skeletal structure, and the joints. A feeling of great peace and relaxation is normally found as the Practitioner creates the balance between the structure and energy of the body. Altered states can be achieved, in which the possibilities of reversal of negative patterns, lifelong problems, and self damaging beliefs, strongly exist. On the structural side, greater fluidity of joints and release of the aches and pains of daily life are achieved through this same balance. Certain shoulder and neck problems are frequently alleviated completely. It is without doubt one of the leading edge modalities, which can truly achieve the too often misused claims of balance of body/mind/spirit.
